Qatar Airways Reaches 150 Starlink-Equipped Aircraft

Qatar Airways has announced that the number of its wide-body aircraft fitted with the Starlink satellite internet system has reached 150. The airline became the first in the world to put a Starlink-equipped Boeing 787-9 into service and completed installation work across its Boeing 787-8 fleet in seven months. The entire Boeing 787 fleet is scheduled to be equipped with the system by the end of 2026.
Having previously completed installations on its Boeing 777 and Airbus A350 fleets, Qatar Airways has now passed 83 percent completion in its Starlink programme. According to the company’s statement, more than 23 million passengers have used the system on over 86,000 flights since October 2024. The airline operates up to 323 Starlink-connected flights a day, offering passengers free internet access at speeds of up to 500 Mbps.
